Paper documentation
First of all, there are lots of good books about Unix, and about the Internet; we have a list of helpful ones. We recommend that you use some of these books, especially if you'd like to learn more about Unix.
Next, IITS itself makes available some hardcopy documentation, which you can obtain for a modest fee at the Concordia University Bookstores. In many cases, the documentation is also available online, so you can print it yourself at home if you have a printer. It is important for you to make sure that you have all of the relevant material for what you are trying to do.
In particular, we highly recommend "Getting Started with Pine" and "Introduction to Usenet News and the slrn Newsreader", a pair of very well written manuals about our supported mail agent and newsreader software, respectively.
